Residents of Nyamwanga in Kitutu Masaba constituency have a reason to smile after the area leadership announced the releasing of Kshs. 2.5 million to complete the construction of a health center that has stalled since 2013.
The health center has been an epicenter of controversy between the incumbent Timothy Bosire and his predecessor Walter Nyambati with regards to misappropriation of funds set aside for the construction of the health center.
However on Sunday, Mr. Bosire who was touring Magombo ward to assess various projects directed the CDF committee to release the funds with immediate effect.
Bosire ordered the contractor to return to work by the end of the new week and promised to ensure the facility is opened for use in five months’ time.
“The contractor who was doing the job should report to work immediately because we want it to be ready by April 2016,” he said.
He also promised to complete other projects launched by his predecessors as well.
“I know all the projects that had stalled before I took over had been allocated money. By offering to complete them isn’t an indication that investigations should not be carried out; accountability is key to development,” he added.
