A twenty nine year old student from St. Paul’s University Nakuru campus was found murdered a few meters from the Rift-Valley Institute of Science & Technology's main gate in Njoro.
Edwin Odhiambo Opap who had completed his Diploma in Business Management last year at SPU Nakuru campus was living with his parent in Njoro town. Edwin was reported missing on Wednesday last week after failing to come back home that evening.
The badly mutilated body of the student which had started decomposing was discovered by herders who later alerted the police.
According to the area Deputy OCS Inspector Makau, the body had three deep cuts on the head which clearly indicated that the victim was murdered.
"Upon arriving at the scene, we discovered the student's identification card which led us to the university and from there, we were able to contact the parents,” revealed Inspector Makau.
He went further to state that the police had started investigations and requested all members of the public who may have any information concerning the incident to come forward.
His body was taken to Nakuru Level 5 mortuary.
