A teacher has been arrested in Kisii County and locked in Ogembo police station for allegedly defiling a class 5 girl in a science room.
According to the girl the teacher lured her into the trap by requesting her to help him clean the room before he locked the door and improvised a bed by joining four dining seats where he abused her.
The defiled girl said that the teacher identified as Jasphas Obae of Omobera SDA boarding primary school in Kenyenya sub-county ordered her to close her eyes and covered her mouth before committing the evil act.
The 12-year-old class 5 pupil added that the teacher warned her not to tell any teacher in the school but she found help from the school canteen operator who gave her a phone to call her parents who raised the issue with the school.
The father of the girl Evans (not her real name) said that he got a call from his wife who told her that their girl was crying in school asking him to visit her.
To his least expectation, he was shocked by her girl's story that a teacher had raped her, forcing him and the school to go to the hospital to prove the claims.
The school Head teacher Olpha Obae told us that she got the information from the girl's parents before visiting the hospital.
“We got the information from the parents and as the school management we took a step of visiting the hospital to ascertain the claims,” she said.
Parents and guardians interviewed condemned the barbaric action calling on the government to investigate the issue and take action against the teacher.
“This is cannot be allowed to continue in our school we urge the government to investigate this matter and immediate action be taken,” said parents.
The arrested teacher has been locked in Ogembo police station and expected to be taken to Ogembo law courts for judgment.
