Tension gripped Ndithini location, Masinga sub-county after angry residents attacked and lynched two brothers on Saturday accused of being behind a wave of robberies in the area.
According to Masinga sub-county deputy commissioner, John Odengo the two were ambushed at their home by angry residents.
Odengo said the furious residents torched a house belonging to the two before tying the suspects and locked them inside.
James Kasyule, the father to the deceased, said he managed to escape the incident, but his wife sustained injuries as she tried to rescue her two sons.
Kasyule said he lost a Posho mill and a car, which were also set ablaze.
The residents claimed that the lynched suspects have been terrorizing them and it is a lesson to all those involved in criminal activities.
"The two brothers have been stealing and harming innocent people in this village," a resident, who declined to be named, said.
The deputy commissioner, however, warned residents against taking the law into their hands.
