Boda boda operators at Ting’ang’a trading center in Kiambu constituency have lauded the police in the area for fighting criminal elements.

Speaking to this Hivisasa writer at Ting’ang’a trading center on Sunday, the operators praised the police saying that security has improved.

“We used to experience criminal cases where some of our colleagues (boda boda operators) would be attacked and robbed by criminals but nowadays such cases are not reported or witnessed,” said Jerry Njoroge, a boda boda operator in the area.

James Mungai, another boda boda rider said that the area had hit headlines for insecurity in the past adding that things have changed.

They praised the police for police patrols that they say have been going on since the festive season.

On the same note, the boda boda riders have appealed to the Kiambu government to install lights in the area to enable them to conduct their businesses at night.

They say that the area has no street lights adding that they are forced to close business early.
