Moiben MP Silas Tiren has called for the cancellation of the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations with immediate effect following claims of leakages.

Speaking in his office on Monday, Tiren said the tests cannot be trusted due to the leakages that have been circulated through the social media and downloaded by students.

"I am really disappointed with the Kenya National Examinations Council for allowing such leakages to occur at their watch and yet it is mandated to ensure that national exams are credible," he said.

He challenged Knec to cancel the tests and set new papers for them to be credible and trusted since Kenyans will not have faith in the results.

" I am calling for the sacking of all Knec official for failing to conduct credible exams as they are mandated. By allowing exams to be leaked to the social media, Knec officials are sleeping on their job and should be shown the door," he said.

He, however, advised the council to ensure that its exams are private and confidential and should not allow it to find itself in the public domain.
