The National Alliance party Kisumu County branch has halted its recruitment drive in Kisumu awaiting confirmation of the merger of Jubilee Alliance affiliate parties to form Jubilee Party.

The party's county chairman, Ben Adega, said they had stopped recruitment until March.

The recruitment of the party members will only resume after getting directives from the party's head office.

Mr Adega indicated that, the TNA branch had already kick-started a recruitment drive in a bid to get more members and also market the party in Kisumu, a region that is Coalition for Reforms and Democracy stronghold.

Adega said the drive had started at the sub county level before it was halted.

“We had started recruiting members in Kisumu, by first having 20 sub county party officials who were tasked to each come with 20 names and contacts of new members,” said Adega.

He indicated that the drive was then taken to the wards, with the first one conducted in Kajulu.

“We have however stopped the move because we might waste time marketing TNA then when March reaches, it is dissolved and again we start afresh recruiting other people and marketing the new out-fit,” said Adega.

He stated that after March, there will be a clear direction as Jubilee party will have been formed by then.
