Small traders from Kisii County have challenged the government to consider them as small investors of the town before inviting foreign investors to the town.

According to them, the county has not involved them in the coming investors summit that will the held in Kisi town on February 24 to 26, 2016 so they need to be involved. Led by Kisii Open Air Market traders chairman, Elijah Ombongi, they accused the county government of organising such a summit of investors while they have not done much for the local investors who are traders and business people in Kisii town and its environs.

''We are the local investors of this county so we need our government to help us in terms of delivery before they bring in foreign Investors,'' said Ombongi.

The traders added that they don’t want to be slaves to other people instead, they requested the county government to adjust its service delivery to them so that they can be stable and have a conducive environment for their businesses to continue.
