Sack plantation does not only occur in urban areas but has also extended to rural areas. Farmers in Kaptagat Uasin- Gishu county utilise sacks to plant some crops such as sukuma wiki and managu.
"I prefer sack plantation for short term crops to protect them from destruction by livestock because it is easier to cover them using this method when necessary," said Mrs. Rose Meli, a mixed farmer.
Rose also said that during the dry season, it is easier to water them therefore beneficial during both dry and cold season.
