Uasin Gishu County Assembly Leader of Majority Josephat Lowoi has called for the suspension of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over the alleged mismanagement of public resources and corruption that has hit her ministry.

Speaking at the county assembly on Tuesday, Lowoi said it is time for Waiguru to be shown the door before the ministry is declared bankrupt.

"It is time that the President (Uhuru Kenyatta) listens to Kenyans and sends CS for Devolution Ann Waiguru home. Why is she being spared and yet her ministry leads in corruption or how special is she? She should be shown the door," he claimed.

The majority leader wondered how money be overspend under her watch where a fine ball pen costs Sh8, 700 and she still keeps mum.

"The President has really let down Kenyans by allowing corrupt officers to work in his government despite promising to fight it to letter. He has done nothing but just giving empty promises. Waiguru should be investigated," he said.

He said if Uhuru wants to win Kenyans’ trust, he should fight corruption within his government and if not, in 2017, he will not have Kenyans’ support since the cost of living has skyrocketed due to graft bedeviling his government.

Lowoi’s remarks come after the Principal Secretary Peter Mangiti on Tuesday “accidentally” revealed to the Parliamentary Accounts Committee the misappropriation of funds that has hit Waiguru’s ministry.
