Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu has asked law enforcers in the constituency to streamline security.
Addressing residents in Kabete Town on Tuesday, Waititu appealed to law enforcement agencies to conduct frequent patrols and deal with criminal elements causing problems in some parts of the constituency.
The MP said there have been security concerns among residents of Waginge, Kinoo and Kabete in the recent past.
Waititu said it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that its citizens are safe at all times.
He added that with the festive season around the corner, law enforcers must guarantee security adding that some criminal elements take advantage of the festive season to terrorise and cause fear among residents.
“Our law enforcement agencies must put in place appropriate measures to address instances of crime and other lawlessness as we approach the festive season. Security of the locals should be the government's first priority,” said Waititu.
Waititu asked the police to work with local chiefs saying that the move will help them address insecurity in the area.
The MP at the same time asked Kabete residents to embrace unity and peace.
He urged the residents to shun leaders who perpetuate tribal divisions adding that it is time for leaders to work and not to divide the people.
