The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is an independent body that deserves constitutional respect from either the government of the day or the opposition.
Demonstrations against the IEBC officials are not only unconstitutional but also illegal.
The constitution has spelt out clearly the process of dissolving any independent organ, IEBC inclusive.
Reforming the commission barely 11 months to the elections poses a great danger to the country's democracy.
The current IEBC commissioners are the ones supposed to manage the next general election because they are the ones who have done the preparations.
Also, allegations by the opposition that they (IEBC commissioners) are unfair do not have evident support, thus they are political.
If the opposition are not satisfied with the openness of the current commissioners, then it means they want ones with their views, an indication that they want to rig the votes.
IEBC reforms should have been done immediately after the 2013 general elections, if they were neccesary.
