A female bartender in Konza Urban Centre, Machakos County was on Wednesday hospitalised at Machakos General Hospital, after sustaining injuries on her face following a quarrel.
The woman she was arguing with is reported to have thrown hot githeri on her face, resulting in the injuries.
Confirming the incident, Konza location sub chief Jonathan Kamia, said he arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information.
"The lady who committed the crime of physically assaulting the bartender has been arrested and is being detained at Makutano Ma Kyumbi Police Station, in Athi River Sub-County," said Kamia.
The chief said investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the argument before the culprit is arraigned in court.
He urged residents to embrace peaceful ways of resolving misunderstandings to avoid similar cases in the future.
