Former Prime Minister and Cord leader Raila Odinga has faulted the delegation that paid a courtesy call to Deputy President William Ruto in his home at Sugoi in Eldoret.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi led the delegation on Thursday this week.
Speaking on Friday at Nyabururu grounds during the funeral preparations for the former Principal of Nyabigena high school, Joseph Obare, Odinga accused the government of invading its strongholds and buying Cord followers.
“There is nothing except taking their stomach to Ruto to feed them. They did not go there on behalf of the community but for their personal benefit. The Jubilee government is using money to divide and bribe our followers but they will not succeed,” alleged Odinga.
He added: “You don’t need to go to someone’s home and beg for development. The government has got a mandate to serve all Kenyans equally.”
Kisii senator Chris Obure echoed the same sentiments. He said they boycotted the courtesy call because they don’t belief that development can be found in someone’s home.
“Is it that the president has failed that we should now go to his deputy to request for development?” questioned Obure.
