Youth in Kibera have been challenged to undertake other courses to boost their curriculum vitae.

Speaking on Thursday during a mentorship programme at Kibra constituency hall, the constituency parliamentary liaison officer Vincent Ayako told the young graduates from universities and colleges to apply for bursaries to enable them continue with their studies.

"You should not sit and relax at home thinking that you have your degree. Try and apply for other short courses that will help you boost your curriculum vitae. For example if you have a degree in journalism, apply for a bursary and take another cause like graphics design," advised Ayako.

He urged the youth to take the programme seriously because the speakers are people who are professionals in different fields.

"The people who will be talking to you are professionals. We do not want to waste your time. We want you to be well equipped therefore take this mentorship programme seriously. Topics to be discussed are leadership, governance, employment and how to make your CV attractive. All these are challenges young graduates pass through when looking for employment," he said.

The training is scheduled for next week on Tuesday at Shadrack Kimwalel Secondary School in Kibera.
