A Nakuru legislature has slammed Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga for lacking respect for women in leadership.

Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama was responding to calls by Raila that Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru resigns over the National Youth Service (NYS) corruption saga.

Speaking in Nakuru town on Sunday, Arama said the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is mandated to deal with such serious issues and not individuals.

“This is a serious matter that should not be politicised. We have relevant bodies that will tell Kenyans the truth. Our brother (Raila) is behaving like he has scores to settle with Waiguru,” he said.

Arama said taking over the issue during political rallies was not offering any solution to the allegations but was in itself preventing justice from taking place.

“Leadership is about responsibility and accountability. If at all Raila feels he has the facts concerning the saga, why is he keeping Kenyans in jeopardy? Let him come out and table everything for the sake of the truth we need,” Arama added.

During a rally in Kibera on Sunday, the Cord leader reiterated his desire to have the Devolution CS resign paving way for investigations.

Last week, Waiguru moved in and cracked the whip in her ministry by ensuring five senior directors in her docket stepped aside pending investigations.
