Uasin Gishu County Roads Executive Gideon Birir has warned road contractors against sub-standard work.
The Roads Executive said the county government will not allow shoddy work by contractors and asked them to offer quality services.
The CeC stated that the county has committed a lot of funds on road renovations and will not accept incomplete or shoddy work.
In a briefing with journalists in his office on Tuesday, Birir urged contactors to adhere to the agreements they signed with the government and commit to their work.
He said that the county has set aside Sh650 million this financial year (2015-2016 ) to oversee repair and renovation of roads in rural areas. Birir also indicated that the county intends to repair and renovate all roads by the end of this year.
The roads official stated that the county government is working with the World Bank and other stakeholders on various infrastructure projects in the county.
He said that through proper infrastructure development, the county will be able to lay a strong ground for economic growth.
Birir further said that the expansion of the Eldoret-Webuye highway is ongoing, noting that once completed, the highway will open doors for investments and business in the region.
