A road construction truck was Monday morning involved in an accident at Maseno along Posta road, injuring its driver and conductor.
The heavy commercial vehicle was carrying soil to the construction site when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hence landing into a ditch.
A witness said the vehicle was being driven at a high speed and it almost ran into another truck. The driver tried to avert a head on collision thereby losing control.
“The driver was driving at a high speed and swerved out of the road where there was an incoming lorry, plunging into a ditch,” said Anne Maina, a resident of Posta.
The driver and conductor suffered minor injuries.
The OCS Erick Langat confirmed the Monday morning incident and said investigations have started to ascertain the cause of the accident.
“I urge you to be vigilant on this road especially now that it is very busy due to the ongoing construction and the slippery nature due to the rains. Drive safely and be very cautious. We are looking into the accident and investigations are underway,” said the OCS.
The road construction project started last week.
