The French Ambassador to Kenya, Rémi Maréchaux, has said France is ready to support community projects that are aimed at alleviating poverty.
Maréchaux said communities should identify problems affecting them and find solutions noting that France will only partner with the communities to drive their agenda.
He said the embassy will offer technical support to guide the communities in the areas they feel would change their lives.
Speaking at Kit Mikayi Technical Training Institute in Seme Constituency on Friday where his government has supported the construction of two classrooms, the ambassador said communities must come together to address their problems.
Maréchaux hailed Pamoja CBO that is implementing the education programmes supported by the French Embassy.
“Pamoja CBO is doing good initiatives and as an embassy, we are ready to support the community,” he said.
He said investing in education is key to unlocking the development growth of the country.
The ambassador hailed the level of education in Kenya noting that it is the best resource the country has.
“When I am in France and asked about Kenya, I always say that the best resource the country has is not the natural resources like oil or any other resource, but education, as the level of education in this country is superb,” he said.
He said France is keen to assist in the realisation of development projects in communities within the country.
