Kisumu County's World Vision Estate residents have called upon those responsible for road repairs in the estate to hasten the activity to ease movement within the estate.
Speaking to this writer at his Migosi office on Thursday, Migosi Ward MCA Paul Achayo noted that they appreciate the move to repair the roads within the estate, but there is need for the constructors to a void dragging the activity to allow easy movements for the residents who drive since they are not able to access their houses.
To him the time span they were using to repair a single road was too long since the locals needed to access the roads stating that the roads were closed for a while for those using vehicles.
MCA Achayo further challenged the constructor not to do shoddy job even if they are needed to take a shorter time to finish the repair to allow residents move easily.
“We appeal to the constructors not to take a lot of time as away to get huge sum of pay without considering the locals' urgent need to access their houses using the road and those who were running small scale business to get their daily income,” said Achayo.
The road constructor field officer James Agengo speaking to this writer on Thursday, however, denied the allegations of delaying the activity stating that for proper road construction they needed to dwell too much to see they never do shoddy jobs.
He further dismissed the sentiments cited that their delayed acts were out of embezzlement of funds.
