Kisumu County assembly Deputy Speaker Pamela Omino has warned MCAs against failing to attend the assembly's sessions.

She said this after the  Wednesday morning session was adjourned due to lack of quorum in the house.

"The people voted you in to legislate. It is very strange that some MCAs are not attending to their core functions." She said.

During the afternoon session nominated MCA Pamela Otieno notified the Speaker that there was still no quorum in the house prompting the Chief Whip Isaiah Onyango to bring in members who were chatting outside.

Onyango complained that some MCAs were staying at the office of the clerk when they were supposed to be attending the house sittings.

"It is wrong for members to skip the session yet they are inside the assembly premises, " the deputy speaker said.

Omino warned that there will be a penalty for members who will be missing the assembly sessions after registering.

"Let this be the last warning, any member who shall miss the session while inside the assembly grounds will lose their allowances, "she said.
