Bodaboda operators in Lari have been warned against aiding a crime following reports that they help criminals escape after their evil deeds.
Speaking in his office on Friday, Lari OCS senior Inspector Peter Ouko said residents had reported three incidents where some operators are alleged to have helped criminals escape from crime scenes.
The OCS urged the sacco managements to educate their members against engaging in the offence, as they will be arrested and prosecuted.
He said some riders were working with criminals by helping them escape from crime scenes, especially during the night.
The OCS said the police are on the alert to ensure such operators are brought to book to curb the menace.
He said the incidents had raised fear among residents, noting that some of them were afraid of using bodabodas as they associate them with criminals.
"This is a warning to all bodaboda riders not to engage in illegal deeds especially at night or else we are going to ban night operations for the riders," said Ouko.
