Nyamira residents have been urged to seek information on public procurement so as to get knowledge on the available services and opportunities in the county.

Lawyer Steve Mogaka said the national government has disbursed funds for development through its agencies at the county level and all Kenyans have a right to access them through competitive tendering.

Speaking Thursday in Nyamira, Mogaka said the public pays huge amounts of money in government taxes and it was only fair for them to take back the funds through participating in government tendering.

He said the public lacked the information on available avenues to government tendering and faulted the government for failing in civic education.

The lawyer urged residents to visit public offices both in county and national government agencies to seek information on the available business opportunities.

He, however, advised residents to register valid business companies with the Registrar of Companies so as to qualify for government tenders.
