A man was on Monday arraigned before a Nakuru court for impersonating a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer.
John Ndugu is accused of allegedly pretending to be a CID officer at the Nakuru Central police station on August 8.
According to police, the accused went to Nakuru central police station at 4.30pm and introduced himself to John Kanyara and Lydia Murage as a CID officer from the Nakuru office.

The court heard that after the police officers interrogated him, he admitted he was not a CID officer and he was then arrested.
Appearing before Principle Magistrate Bernard Ndenda, Ngungu pleaded not guilty saying that he was tortured by the police after he was arrested at his home.
“They arrested me at my home and they have tortured me badly, I worked with a public transport company in Iran as a technician, I will be flying out in a month time and I totally don’t know how the charges are,” he said
The court released him on a surety bond of Sh100,000.
The case will be heard on September 24.
