Kiambu County Assembly nominated MCA Anne Wanjiku has welcomed the national government's efforts to promote talent and research among youths.
This follows Education CS Prof Jacob Kaimenyi’s revelations that the government will establish a national agency next year that will cater for talent, research and innovations.
Wanjiku who is the chair of county assembly committee on innovations, communication and technology said that creating an enabling environment that nurtures youths' talents was a good plan by the state.
"The government has promised to open innovation and talent centres in all wards across the country to ensure that even the marginalised regions are not left out. This is something that I'm happy about because I know this country is full of talent," said Wanjiku.
She stated that many youths will now be able to showcase their talents and innovations and in return, many of them who are jobless will be empowered.
She spoke to journalists on Wednesday outside the Kiambu County assembly buildings.
