East African Educational Publishers (EAEP) chief executive officer Kiarie Kamau has promised to work with Kisii University to increase the availability of a range of books in their library.

Speaking on Monday at Kisii university main library hall during a public lecture by renowned author Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Kamau said the library needs materials covering diverse topics to help learners fully develop their skills.

He pledged to work with closely with the vice chancellor professor John Akama to maker sure that the library is supplied with more books especially in literature.

"We are going to bring some of the books to this library so that it can benefit our students during their studies," said Kiarie 

He said that a special library package is needed in universities to enhance smooth learning and to end shortage of books in universities for studies and reference.

"We are going to work together to make sure that you are going to get such books in this library to increase the exposure of students in African literary works," he added.

EAEP published Ngugi's book titled Mũrogi wa Kagogo (Wizard of the Crow) in 2004, which was his first book in 20 years, following 22 years of exile.
