Nakuru County residents on Tuesday converged at the Afraha Stadium to commemorate Mashujaa Day aimed at recognising individual effort that has brought fame, recognition and independence to the nation.

In his speech, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua reiterated the fact that his administration wants to fulfill his campaign pledges further thanking the residents for offering an enabling environment.

“Under my administration, farmers have been able to access modern farming equipment, fast yielding seeds and reduced buying prices has ensured supply of enough food across the county,” he said on Tuesday.

Being a pioneer administration after the promulgation of the new constitution, Mbugua vowed to set the bar high so that other subsequent administrations would always strive to attain his development record.

“Historically, anybody should leave a lasting impression anywhere if you are the first in the line, that is what I am talking about,” he said.

The Governor also called on all regional police bosses to ensure that their areas of jurisdiction were well manned to help contain the rising cases of insecurity.

“It’s my dream to have a safe and secure Nakuru where investment and entrepreneurship will thrive leading to economic stability,” Mbugua noted.

He called on residents to put their leaders on check in a more constructive manner to help ensure leadership is delivered in a more inclusive manner.

The celebrations brought together both county and national leaders, religious patrons, investors, the private sector, among others to show recognition to heroes and heroines within the county.
