Uasin Gishi County Commissioner Abdi Mohammed has asked owners of supermarkets, entertainment joints, restaurants and churches to continue with their security checks and monitoring.
He noted that some business premises were not subjecting their customers to security checks saying the move breaches security measures.
Mohammed said that security must be provided at all times adding that every business premise or outlet must invest in security detectors.
“We have noted that supermarkets and entertainment joints are no longer inspecting or checking their customers and want to advise them to make sure that all customers are checked,” he said.
Mohammed said that anything should not be left to chance when it comes to security stating that the enemy is not sleeping.
Meanwhile, he has assured residents of their security and urged them to cooperate with law enforcers in the fight against crime.
The commissioner said that police are working round the clock to provide security.
Mohammed said that police intelligence and surveillance has been heightened across the county as police conduct regular patrols in estates and villages. “There is no need for citizens to worry about their safety because it is being taken care of,” said Mohammed.
He noted that police officers are well prepared and will not tolerate criminals causing havoc.
The commissioner urged the public to remain vigilant and report crime, noting that law enforcers are on a 24-hour alert and will promptly respond to security concerns.
He was briefing the press on Wednesday in his office.
