Adventist Pastors in Nyanchwa area, Kisii County have raised concern over the increase of cases of women, youth and underage children selling and smoking bhang in the area.

Consequently, they have vowed to rid the area of such people, including banishing them if the authorities fail to act.

According to the pastors, led by Pastor Douglas Bere, the situation is dire, and if it was not handled in good time, a whole generation of youths would be lost.

The clergyman claimed that efforts to report the matter to respective authorities in the area for appropriate action had yielded nothing, thus their threat to take the law into their own hands.

“We will mobilize residents in the area to flash out the suspects who are well known and ensure that they do not recruit many others,” he said.

He further noted that the dealers were daring to an extent of conducting their illegal business near churches.

Pastor Bere pointed out that the affected group, especially the youth had become useless and could not engage in any meaningful activities.

They were speaking on Thursday during an ongoing training at Nyanchwa SDA church.
