The county government of Kisii has said that it will cater for all the burial costs of three people who lost their lives after they were struck by lightning in Mochorwa in Bomachoge Chache.

Speaking when he met the committee in charge of the burial arrangements in his office, Kisii governor James Ongwae said his government has set aside Sh350,000 to carter for the burial expenses and clear bills of one person who sustained injuries from the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at the Kisii Level Six Teaching and Referral Hospital. 

He said families of those who lost their lives will receive Sh100,00 each while Sh50,000 will be used to settle hospital bills of the injured lightning victim.

According to the area Chief Wilson Obara who chaired the burial committee, they were happy with the step taken by the county government to assist the bereaved families.

“We appreciate the help from the county government and we want to say a big thank you to them,” Obara said.
