A pastor has challenged his fellow men of the cloth to come up with investments to empower their churches economically instead of relying on contributions from its members.

Speaking during a church service at Nyanchwa SDA Church, Kisii County on Saturday, Pastor Daniel Onchieku said there is need for churches to invest in income-generating ventures.

He said most churches faces financial crises and would easily end if they invest to income-generating activities such as setting up schools that will offer cheap education and help them have their financial stability.

The pastor’s sentiments were expressed even as the church embraced reforms on self sustenance as opposed to dependence on donors and offerings.

“I advise churches to invest instead of waiting for offerings from their members. This will help in solving finincial crises currently facing many churches in that they cannot even manage the church well,” said Onchieku.
