Jobless and trained teachers in Nyamira County have been urged to apply for available job vacancies advertised by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
According to Nyamira South sub County Education Officer Mr Kennedy Manono, there are many unemployed teachers in the region who have all the required qualifications to land the advertised jobs.
Manono said many qualified teachers shy off from applying the jobs due to "lack of transparency", but assured them that through his office he will ensure that the process is transparent.
This comes after TSC advertised over two thousand jobs to be filled in a months time.
On the ongoing teachers' strike, he called upon the unions to embrace dialogue and come into an agreement with the government and resume teaching.
He urged parents to take care of their children and make sure they are studying at home.
