A man accused of defrauding Nakuru business people goods worth over Sh50 million have been remanded by a Nakuru court pending completion of investigations.
Nicolas Nganga faced six charges of defrauding people of an assortment of goods this year while he working as a director of Educative Supplement International.
Nganga allegedly obtained assorted food stuffs valued at Sh2,419,250 from Seastar Suplies and Engineering Limited on diverse dates between March 23 and June 4 at Milimani Estate within Nakuru County.
Its also alleged that he has been giving tenders to people to supply him with the goods after which he went into hiding for three to four months. He was arrested on Friday and taken to Nakuru central police station.
He also allegedly obtained assorted pipes worth Sh5,161,715 from Peterson Munene pretending that he was in a position to pay on diverse dates between February 20 and 26.
On third charge, Nganga defrauded and obtained assorted foodstuffs valued at Sh12,006,360 from Halima Abdulahim on diverse dates between January 27 and February 13.
Nganga alongs side others who were also charged before court of fraudulently obtaining Timber cypress valued at Sh3,400,000 from Mikwa Limited on diverse dates between January 31 and March 9.
On the fifth account, he is accused of obtained foodstuffs that include maize, rice and beans valued at Sh8,442,500 from H$K Enterprises Limited on diverse dates between February 6 and 20th.
He faced a sixth charged of obtaining foodstuffs valued at Sh22,080,900 from Kuweka Trading Limited on diverse dates between March 11 and May 11.
State Prosecutor Chief Inspector, Sirorei Rop urged that court to remand Ng’ang’a at Nakuru central police station amidst completion of investigations.
“Six charges have not yet been completed and the investigations are ongoing, the prosecution understands that the accused has a series of cases and we therefore urged the court to give time,” he said
Rop also urged the court to place the case on September 11 when the bond terms will be given.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Joel Ngeno, Nganga pleaded not guilty to all six accounts
The case will be mentioned on September 11.
