A 21-year-old man was on Thursday arraigned before a Kisumu Law Court for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter whom he had offered a lift from Obunga to Manyatta on a motorbike.
Stephen Mwanza, a Kisumu resident appeared before Chief Magistrate Thomas Obutu to answer to charges of alleged rape.
The Prosecution Desk told the Court that in May 22 this year at around 11am, the girl asked the accused to pick her up from Obunga stage after arriving from her rural home.
The Court also heard that on arrival Mwanza went with the girl to a garage in Kondele and then asked the girl to accompany him home.
Allegations are that when they arrived at his house the girl discovered that there was no one else there, but Mwanza allegedly told her that his uncle would arrive soon.
The Prosecution Desk stated that when the accused and the victim got into the house the accused forcefully dragged the girl, who by then was sitting on a small chair in the bedroom, to the bed.
The court heard that the accused then asked the girl to be intimate with her, but she refused, a stand which could not be accepted by the accused whom held the girl's hands and allegedly raped her.
The Prosecution Desk further alleged that the girl screamed for help but no one heard her. It is alleged that after he had raped the girl he escorted her to her sister's house in Manyatta at around 7pm. The girl told her sister what had transpired and the matter was reported to the police.
