Moi’s Bridge Ward Representative Mr Daniel Kipleting has urged area youths to apply for the Uwezo Fund and start business ventures.
The MCA also challenged youths to take advantage of the government 30 per cent tenders and do business with the government.
Speaking when he met youth groups at Moi's Bridge trading centre on Wednesday, the MCA challenged youths to take up the funds being given by the government.
Kipleting said the Uwezo Fund can change the fortunes of young people and women if they apply for it.
Kipleting told youths to stop wasting time doing things that will not help them and instead seek the government funds.
“The government has presented the youth with an opportunity to grow economically through Uwezo Fund,” he said.
The MCA said that youths can start projects of their own choice if they apply for the Uwezo Fund. He also encouraged women and persons living with disabilities to apply for the fund adding that the Uwezo Fund is inclusive of all marginalised groups.
The MCA however urged the national government to increase the Uwezo Fund kitty.
He said the current allocation is not sufficient to meet the many marginalised groups who are sending in applications.
