Nakuru County Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua is among the four governors accused by the Central Kenya Parliamentary Group of sabotaging the fight against illegal brew.

Other governors also accused are William Kabogo of Kiambu, Nderitu Gachagua of Nyeri and Daniel Waithaka of Nyandarua County.

The four have been accused of sabotaging efforts by the MPs to fight illegal alcohol by re-licensing bars closed down in the recent crackdown.

While speaking in parliament buildings during a press conference after their monthly parliamentary group meeting the MPs accused the governors of financing lawsuits against legislators.

Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru who is also their chairman, threatened to organise protests against the governors who he says are going against the presidential directive as well as the wishes of the majority of Kenyans.

“Even as we continue to progress on our campaign against illicit brews we have discovered that some governors are registering the bars that were recently closed down.” he said

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa said that they might be forced to call for the removal from office of the four county bosses.
