Kisii Central ward representative, Wilfred Monyenye has vowed to fight for the rights of County workers who are yet to receive their salaries since September 2014 ahead of Wednesday's meeting.

Monyenye who was speaking yesterday at the county assembly’s offices in Kisii town, while addressed the protesting employees who were lamenting over ten-month period of unpaid dues, said it was unfair for the county to ignore their plea.

"Every employee deserves fair treatment, they have suffered for long," he said.

The MCA assured the workers that soon the matter would be resolved citing various discussions around the issue in the county assembly and the fact that the case had already been presented in the Kisii law courts awaiting determination.

Ichuni MCA Francis Aburi joined his county assembly counterpart in saying that he would not sit back and watch the workers suffer. He expressed confidence in the ongoing negotiations urging the workers to keep their expectations high.

He urged the employee who had camped at the county assembly premises to remain calm cautioning them against being used by politicians to cause disruptions. He reiterated that the matter would soon be resolved.

“I know what you are going through with your families, some of the workers here are from my area ward and I’m positive justice will be fairly served as we look forward to have a meeting with you on Wednesday,” the MCA affirmed.
