Leaders in Nakuru County have been urged to forgo their political squabbles and prioritise service delivery to the community.
According to Naivasha East MCA Samuel Waithuki, a time comes when the community becomes important than party affiliation arguing that at the end of the day, all leaders will be vetted as per how much they have transformed their areas of representation.
“2017 is here when boys will be separated from men because it seems some people came into politics to solve personal scores, not to serve,” he noted, adding that it’s only by forgiving one another that the leaders from the region would read from the same script.
The Majority leader in the county assembly called on all leaders to get back to the drawing board and strategise on how best the remaining quarter of this term will be utilised on development projects that were on their plan but still not materialised.
“It’s important to recheck your campaign promises, unfinished projects from the former administrations and what your people expected from you and ensure at list significant sections have been improved,” the veteran politician advised.
Speaking in Naivasha on Wednesday when he made a stopover in his backyard, Waithuki called on the common mwananchi to show respect to their leaders so as to encourage, positively criticise and advice on important issues affecting them.
“No unity can thrive in any modern and democratised society if members don’t respect their leaders,” he said.
The majority leader further called on cohesion and respect among the leadership ranks for a vibrant society that will ensure the County achieves its goal of becoming an economic hub in the region.
This comes barely a day after Lake View MCA Simon Wanyoike called on the Ethics and Anticorruption Commission to investigate all CDF projects on suspicion of mismanagement of funds.
