Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi on Tuesday launched a borehole in Ikombe Location, Machakos County.

Speaking during the grand opening of the Sh2.2m Ngengi borehole, Mwangangi said the borehole will help curb water shortage in the area, and the residents will no longer have to walk long distances to get the commodity.

"It is a great day as through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), we have been able to drill this borehole that is the first in this location," said Mwangangi.

The MP also opened the Kivandini-Ngengi tarmac road that was also facilitated by the national government.

The MP however warned the county government against deceiving the residents that the development projects had been funded by the county government.

“The county government should focus on development and should not lie about funding these projects, as the national government spent Sh2.7m in the construction of the Kivandini-Ngengi road,” said Mwangangi.

The residents who attended the launch praised the MP terming him as a good leader who has played a major role in developing the area.
