Nakuru health workers have vowed to go on with the strike until when the Nakuru county government fully addresses their concerns.

According to South Rift Valley Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (SRMPDU) chairman, Julius Nyambaka, the Nakuru county government is not serious in addressing the concerns raised by health workers,

In a media briefing with journalists in Nakuru town on Friday, Nyambaka accuses the county of lacking the will to end the health workers strike that started on Monday this week.

He said the county government was not realistic in the negotiations held on Tuesday this week.

“The way things are going it seems health workers will be out of work for long,” he said.

Nyambaka added that health workers concerns and grievances must be addressed.  On Wednesday, the Nakuru county government announced that it has presented the health workers grievances to the labour department.

Nakuru health workers have accused the county government of delaying their salaries, failing to pay them their allowances and also failing to promote them.

The health workers further accused the county of allegedly ignoring their welfare.
