The Teachers Service Commission has been faulted for interdicting Njoro Girls High School principal in connection with alleged molestation of students by a teacher in the school.

Kuppet Nakuru branch officials said the commission should have investigated the matter before taking the action before interdicting Wanjiku Wanderi, the school’s principal.

This came about a week in which one of the teachers in the school was accused of molesting six students.

Speaking in a press conference held at the Kuppet offices on Monday, the Branch Chairman Sammy Kambo, executive secretary Gakau Mbugua and Treasurer Rukwaro Theuri said Wanderi was interdicted based on the reports that they obtained from the media.

The teacher was accused of sexually molesting six high school students from Njoro secondary school

The officials said the county TSC office should have carried out thorough investigations to ascertain the matter.

“The principal has recorded tremendous improvement in performance of the school, which should not have been overlooked,” Mbugua said at a press conference in Nakuru town yesterday.

He said there were attempts to transfer the principal and said a witch-hunt cannot be ruled out.

The officials said cases of students being impregnated by teachers have been reported in other schools but the TSC did not interdict any principals.
