Tiren, who is also a member of the CDF Board says the proposal is a “joke” saying the fund has improved the livelihoods of Kenyans and that it is the only fund that has Kenyans can access easily.

Speaking in his office on Monday, Tiren said that CDF is the only fund that benefits citizens directly through improved healthcare, education, and education bursaries.

He says the removal of the fund will make citizens suffer while stressing that the role played by the fund cannot be substituted.

"CDF was not removed as purported by some individuals by the court, but we were just directed by the court to work on some issues such as to get the public views through public participation whether CDF should remain or be abolished," he said.

"This is to ensure that CDF can be alligned to the new constitution and the public participation response is overwhemingly a big yes," he added.
