Rigoma businessmen in Kitutu Masaba constituency of Nyamira County are counting losses after fire razed down their stalls on Tuesday.
According to eye witness, the fire started from one of the shops speculating that the incident might have been caused by an electric fault.
West Kitutu location Chief Tom Ndege confirmed the incident on Tuesday and noted that the fire started from one of the shops and spread to the next shops.
Area residents raised an alarm to the Nyamira fire fighters but no property was saved.

Chief Ndege said that there is an electricity transformer that has had problems for days near Rigoma where the misfortune struck.
“I think the cause of the fire is electricity faults,” speculated Ndege.
