Six men are admitted at the Thika Level Five Hospital after they were involved in a fight between bodaboda and tuktuk operators near the hospital on Wednesday.

Trouble started when a Tuktuk driver heading to Thika town attempted to drop a client at the hospital gate. It is alleged that bodaboda riders who operate near the hospital tried to bar him from dropping his client but he defied.

Tuktuk operators who spoke to HiviSasa claim that their colleague was hit with a stone by bodaboda operators who were denying him the right to drop or collect passengers near the hospital's gate.

They say he responded by fighting back before the bodaboda riders pounced on him, beating him up badly. It was at that point that fellow Tuktuk operators came to the rescue of their colleague and the incident broke into a full blown fight which saw the windscreen of one of the Tuktuk vehicles shattered.

A passenger inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries with over eight Tuktuk operators sustaining injuries that led to the admission of six people at the Thika Level Five Hospital.

Thika OCS Robert Okinya arrived at the scene and calmed down the situation though no one was arrested.

"Fighting will not benefit you in any way," he said.
