Information Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has told the Opposition (Cord) to stop insulting the government and give it time to deliver.

According to Matiang’i, the government has no problem listening to what the Opposition wants, but it has to stop insulting the government first.

Speaking on Sunday in Kisii town, the CS said there is only one Kenya and there is no need to divide Kenyans through unnecessary politicking.

Matiang'i asked politicians to stop incitements that can break peace in the country.

This comes after George Aladwa, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Nairobi branch chairman allegedly made inflammatory remarks at a rally in Kibra on Madaraka Day.

“Let us all live peacefully, we are one family, let us cooperate with the government to move this nation forward,” he said.

He added: “if the Opposition wants the government to do something let them share it, but they should stop insulting the government".
