Maseno University academic registrar has warned students on the use of fake exam cards during this period of end semester examinations.

Dr. Joseph Kwach condemned the act terming it unethical and any student found in the act will face the full penalty of examination irregularities which is set at 1000 academic days expulsion.

“Some of you have developed a vice of designing fake examination cards with forged signatures of examinations officers. This character is not for intellectuals like you,” said Kwach.

He added that the university has recorded losses due to such heinous acts. This warning comes after 39 students faced the disciplinary committee for sitting for the exam with fee balance last semester.

The examinations which commenced on Monday are expected to end on August 11. A number of students have already ben found with forged exam cards.

“Use the right authority to get the exam cards, any mischief will be dealt with accordingly,” warned Kwach.

This however has raised concern as some students claimed they have paid school fees in full but they had not been issued with exam cards.

“How do they expect us to sit for the exam when they can’t issue us the exam cards? I have an over payment of Sh.1500 yet I have not received my card. They keep on pushing us from one angle to another,” lamented Thomas Baraka.

Some students who confessed of being in possession of the forged cards were thrown out of the exam room.
