A 19-year-old man on Thursday arraigned in a Kikuyu Court for allegedly attacking, robbing and sexually assaulting a woman on July 2 this year near Kabete Shopping Centre.
The complainant says that the accused, Stephen Omollo was in the company of other three young men not present in the court accosted her in the night at around 9.30pm at Kabete shopping centre where they robbed,beat her before sexually assaulting her together with three others who weren't present in court.
She says that the four men sexually assaulted her before stealing her handbag containing personal documents, a Blackberry 9700 mobile phone , and Sh2,055 that were inside her purse.
The investigating officer Mohamed Abdi from Kabete police station said that on the said date at around 10pm, Wambui came to report the incident at the station with an injury on her forehead and was bleeding.
Sergent Abdi told Chief Magistrate James Ogweno that they took the woman to Kikuyu Hospital where she was treated as police launched investigations.
The court heard that on the July 5, 2015 the phone that was stolen from the lady was recovered after a man, named Francis Wambugu was found with it.
Wambugu, who claims to have bought the phone the accused helped police trace the Omollo because up to where he lived leading to his arrest.
"We found him sleeping alone in the house at around 12.00pm. After conducting a quick search in the house, awe recovered an 8gb memory card from one of the four phones in the house," said the officer.
The chief magistrate set the hearing for on the 18th August 2015.
