Three women were on Monday arraigned before a Nakuru court charged with intending to receive money by false pretences.
Evelyne Wanjiru, Elizabeth Wanjiru and Ann Wacheki were accused of allegedly attempting to defraud Ruben Kiragu by offering a bad cheque of Sh 87,200 on July 17 at Subukia Centre in Nakuru North Constituency.
On second account, they were also accused of intending to receive Sh 53,000 on March 28 from Ruben Kiagu by issuing him a Family Bank cheque but the account did not have sufficient funds.
Their lawyer Ochang Ajigo prayed to the court to give them favourable bond and alternative cash bail because they have young families.
"The accused have young families and I pray that the court give them a reasonable cash bail that they can raise because they have young families that depends on them," he said
Appearing before Chief Magistrate, Joel Ngeno, they all denied the charges and were released on Sh 100,000 bond and an alternative cash bail of Sh 50, 000.
The case will be heard on September 18.
