Two men were on Tuesday arrested at Egetuki Village Kisii County by the area chief with the help of villagers for allegedly locking up two schoolgirls.
According to the chief Mr Zablon Rayori the two girls had closed school for the mid-term break but did not go home. The two men are said to have taken them to their house where they both live.
"One of the girls runaway when she learned that the neighbours had called the police," one neighbour said.
The chief who was accompanied by two police officers from Ogembo police station rushed to the scene and rescued the young men from the wrath of the residents who threatened 'discipline' them.
A girl who is said to have facilitated the incident is also was taken to the Ogembo police station for interrogation.
The girls’ Parents refused to be interviewed saying they wished the matter not to be publicised because they want their daughters to go back to school undisturbed.
The chief identified the two men as Daniel Ondicho and Enock Kenyaya who are cousins. They are currently being held at Ogembo police station.
