Recovering alcoholics in Naivasha are set to benefit from water kiosks that were launched at Kihoto Estate.
“We have confidence that these water kiosks will help youth who have abandoned the consumption of illicit liquor to improve their lives,” said Kinuthia .
Speaking on Tuesday at Kihoto Estate in Naivasha during the launch of the county -funded water kiosks, Kinuthia said that his government is committed at addressing the challenges affecting the youth.
“Nakuru County government has been involved in addressing the plights of youth by rolling out income-generating projects”, said Kinuthia he added that the first priority was to empower the youth with income generating activities.
“Those youth who have abandoned consumption of lethal liquor will be given the first priority,” said Kinuthia.
He also said his administration is committed in addressing the social challenges facing the informal sector.
“The county government is addressing the issues of sanitation in Kihoto and the launch of the water kiosks will go in hand in offering affordable and clean water,” said Kinuthia .
He called on the local residents to make use of the water points to access clean water in order to prevent water borne disease.
“ Kihoto residents should use the water to avert cholera,” said Kinuthia.
He termed the initiative as a milestones as more youth will be involved in hawking the commodity.
